A 31-year-old woman died following a four-vehicle hit-and-run crash early Thursday evening in Dayton that sent two others to a local hospital.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m. after the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer headed east on Free Pike ran a red light at the North Gettysburg Avenue intersection and collided with a 2012 Ford Focus headed north on North Gettysburg Avenue, according to a Dayton Police Department crash report filed this week.

The impact forced the Focus to continue north and crash into a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu and 2002 GMC Yukon that were stopped at the intersection.

The driver of the Ford, Allison Nycole Oliver of Dayton, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where she died late Friday night of her injuries, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

The drivers of the other two vehicles, Dayton women ages 41 and 47, suffered minor injuries in the crash and also were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

The driver of the Blazer ran from the crash, the report stated. According to dispatch records, witnesses told police that the person later pulled a bicycle out of the bushes and pedaled north on Salem Avenue. Police searched the area with a K-9 unit but did not find the person.

The intersection was closed as crews investigated, but reopened at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

A funeral visitation for Oliver is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday followed by an 11 a.m. funeral at Restored Life Ministries in Springfield, according to her obituary.
